Learning and Teaching Tools

Teachware

Teachware is a unique digital content that provides training materials and exercises in the form of guides, lectures, animations, and experiment notes. It can be used by downloading and installing the software from the dedicated website of the developer, Famic Technologies Inc.

The installed Teachware will be embedded in the “Technical Training Material” menu, and you can select any content (project) from the “Technology” group. For each technology area, the following are available.

Electrotechnical

• Overview of electrical components, exercises
  • Capacitors / Dipoles / Inductors / Registers
• Basic concepts of electrotechnology, exercises
  • Charge / Current / Power / Voltage
  • Ohm’s law
• Physical characteristics
  • Capacitor/inductor/resistor combinations - identifying formulas
  • Kirchhoff’s law, Ohm’s law, exercises

Automation

• GRAFCET SFC and Ladder (Common Practice)

Hydraulic, Pneumatic.

• Basic component identification and schematic design concepts
• Explanation and exercises on various components
  • Accumulators / Balance valves / Directional valves / Flow limiters / Linear actuators
    / Pressure control / Pressure reducing valves etc.
• Troubleshooting methods
  • Accumulator / Cylinder / Directional valve / Overheat / Check valve / Piston pump / Pressure reducing valve etc.
• About physical properties
  • Principle of flow pascal - experiment Pressure compensation
  • Pressure drop across orifice - experiment
• Virtual test bench Functions - Exercises

The Japanese version of Teachware is scheduled to be released in July 2021.

There are interactive exercises in the provided learning software. The software can be used for self-study, review, and quizzes to check understanding.

These exercises include simple schematics that can be simulated and animated for analysis, and students can use the interactive forms provided in Automation Studio™ to answer the relevant questions for each exercise.
 

Workflow Manager (Optional)

It is an ideal optional tool for editing and creating interactive training materials. When the license is successfully installed, “Workflow Manager” will be incorporated under the “Tools” menu.

The Workflow Manager allows teachers to change or edit exercises or create new content for the class.

Teachware provided can be edited and customized (voice input is also possible) by following the navigator in the form of a flowchart input and linking it with conditional branch settings, circuit diagrams used in experiments, and simulation results.
